ABOUT KARA BROOKS - Kara Brooks, along with her husband Bob Brooks, opened the Still River Café in Connecticut in 2006 to rave reviews, including: an “Extraordinary” from the New York Times, “Best Restaurant in Connecticut” from Connecticut Magazine, “Best of New England: Farm to Table” and “No. 1 Foodie Destination in New England” both from Boston Magazine.  The restaurant is an AAA Four Diamond award winner and was selected as by ZAGAT as one of “America’s Top Restaurants.” 

Ms. Brooks was a James Beard Semi-finalist for Best Chef: Northeast in 2012, a Food & Wine People’s Best New Chef Nominee in 2011 and was named Best Chef in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine in 2010 and 2011. She has had recipes published in Bon Appetit, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Hartford Courant, Connecticut Magazine, and Art Culinaire. 

Ms. Brooks, along with her husband, co-authored, designed and photographed Paradise Found: The People, Restaurants and Recipes of St. Barthélemy in 2002.

Ms. Brooks has a degree in marketing and finance from the University of Albany and a law degree from Boston University.
